India has a unique allure, I have forever wanted to travel here. In 2008, I set my mind firmly on the goal of getting here, when we purchased 10 year multiple entry visas. We are excited to finally be here experiencing it first hand, culture-shock and all. I will do my best to film everything as we experience it, both the good and the bad. And here we are: 3 happy smiley kids, enjoying it to the fullest! From the first day of being there I felt how this completely new world is extending the dimensions of my mind. First, we were shocked by diversity, noise, crowd, mess and dynamics of Delhi and Agra. We (at least I) learned how to be patient and got used to it! For many more things to do in Delhi, where to stay, and delicious food to eat, check out my Delhi Travel Guide: https://migrationology.com/store/delhi-travel-guide/ (click the link)! Delhi, India, (नई दिल्ली) is the national capital of the country and has a metropolitan population of around 22 million residents. The city is ancient, it's been around since the 6th century BC so there are many historical and cultural places to visit. That's specifically why I created this list of 21 things to do in Delhi, to help you plan and get excited about visiting Delhi, India. 1. The Lotus Temple (Bahá'í House of Worship) - The temple is in the shape of a giant lotus and on the inside is a peaceful sanctuary where you can enter and sit in silence for as long as you like. 2. ISKCON Hare Krishna Temple - I had never seen a temple like this before, so it as an interesting experience to hear the music and walk around the interior of the temple. 3. Kalkaji Mandir Hindu Temple - This temple is a very important Hindu temple in Delhi and while I was there, there were a number of babies being dedicated by being decorated and blessed. 4. Jama Masjid - Located in Old Delhi, Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in all of Delhi. Though they will attempt to get money from you, it's free to enter the mosque, but if you want to take photos inside they will charge you 300 rupees. 5. Akshardham Temple - This modern Hindu temple located on the outskirts of Delhi literally made my jaw drop, it's that amazing. It's free to enter, but unfortunately, they don't allow any photography inside. This is one of the things to do in Delhi that you cannot afford to miss! 6. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (Sikh Temple) - Unlike some other sites in Delhi where you'll find many touts and hustlers, the Gurdwara Sikh Temple is about the nicest and most friendly place you can go in Delhi. People are extremely nice and you can enter the temple to listen to music. 7. Laxmi Narayan Mandir -- Dedicated by Mahatma Gandhi, this is one of the most significant Hindu temples in Delhi. 8. Hauz Khas Complex - I'm always amazed at the history of Delhi and Hauz Khas is an excellent example of ancient monuments in the middle of a public park. 9. Lodi Gardens - As a free entrance public park, visiting the Lodi Gardens is one of the most amazing things to do in Delhi. It's just like an ordinary park, but it's filled with thousand year old tombs and monuments that are truly inspirational. 10. India Gate - The war memorial is one of the landmarks of Delhi and resembles the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris. 11. Jantar Mantar - The Jantar Mantar complex is a compound that houses 13 different astronomy instruments. The structures are confusing to look at, but if you read or follow a guide (or audio guide) you'll understand how each instrument functioned. 12. Qutub Minar - Just like Akshardham Temple, Qutub Minar is one of the top things to do in Delhi, it's truly remarkable. The minaret is the main attraction, a huge pillar of red carved sandstone that towers above the ancient ruins in the complex. 13. Humayun's Tomb - One of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Delhi is Humayun's Tomb, built in Mughal Islamic architecture. 14. Tomb of Safdarjung - Very similar to Humayun's tomb is the tomb of Safdarjung. What I really liked is that there were no other tourists the day I went so it was quite and peaceful. 15. Red Fort - Located near Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi is the Red Fort. It's an entire walled in city where you can walk around the browse the many buildings within the walls. 16. Raj Ghat - The Raj Ghat is a memorial park dedicated to Gandhi. 17. Chandni Chowk & Chawri Bazar - The liveliest and busiest area of Delhi is Chandni Chowk and Chawri Bazar. I think it's possible to purchase anything from the entire world in this area, and you'll also find lots of delicious food. 18. Dilli Haat - This handicraft village was set up by the Delhi tourism authority and it's a decent place to purchase souvenirs or high quality crafts. You'll also find a food court that contains canteens serving food from all over India. 19. Connaught Place (Rajiv Chowk) - Known for short as just CP is a huge series of roundabouts and is the central modern business district of Delhi. Within the area you'll find all sorts of shops, famous restaurants and the Palika Bazar, an underground shopping center. 20. Paharganj (Main Bazar) - The main bazar is located just west of the New Delhi railroad station and it's an old area of town where you'll find a market and lots of budget accommodation options. 21. Delhi Street Food - Eating street food is one of the best things to do in Delhi, you'll love it. Thank you for watching this Delhi travel guide video and hope you have a great trip to Delhi, India! Delhi, India travel guide - Trip to New Delhi, India - Tourist attractions in New Delhi, India Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Delhi is India's capital city and the home of executive, legislative, and judiciary branches of the Government of India. Delhi is a large metropolis with strengths in arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence. See in Delhi ======== Red Fort The Red Fort (Lal Qila) is one of Delhi's top tourist sights. A brilliant red sandstone fort built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (who also built Agra's Taj Mahal) as his ruling palace. Completed in 1648, the years since have not treated the buildings kindly: the rooms have long since been stripped of all objects, the marble inlays are long gone and quite a few buildings are off limits. Still, the scale remains imposing and the gardens are kept lush and green even in midwinter. Major buildings within include: Chatta Chowk, (Covered Bazaar). True to the name, this is a covered bazaar between the gate and the fort itself, now filled with souvenir hawkers. Diwan-i-Am, (Hall of Public Audience). This building separates the outer court from the inner court, and has a marble platform for the emperor's throne. Hayat Baksh Bagh, (Life-Bestowing Gardens). Once a grand garden of full of fountains and streams, now sadly all dry — only dry channels and acres of green grass remain. Diwan-i-Khas, (Hall of Private Audience). Built completely of marble, this is where the emperor received special visitors. Khas Mahal, (Private Palace), The Emperor's main residence. The octagonal Mussaman Burj tower looks out toward the Yamuna River, and is where the Emperor used to appear before the public for each morning. Rang Mahal, (Colour Palace). The residence of the Sultan's main wife. Mumtaz Mahal, (Jewel Palace). Contained six apartments for the Sultan's harem. Now used as a museum of court textiles, carpets, weapons, etc (free). Daawat Khana, A minor palace at the northmost end of the Fort, this was originally the residence of a prince, but it was converted into a tea house by the British, a function it continues today. Basic meals go for around 60 rupees, drinks 10-20 rupees, and it also has the cleanest toilets around. Swatantra Sangrama Sangrahalaya, (Museum of the Independence Movement). To the left after the Chatta Chowk, this is a reasonably well-presented museum on the history of independence activism in India, starting from the Mutiny of 1857 all the way to Gandhi. The only open entrance is Lahore Gate, on the west side. Security in and around the Fort is very heavy, as it was the scene of a terrorist attack in 2000 that killed three people. Bags are allowed, but they'll be X-rayed and you'll be patted down. Tickets cost Rs 10/250 rupees for Indians/foreigners, photography free, video cameras Rs 25 extra. Open sunrise to sunset daily except Monday. Allow for 3-4 hr in your schedule in case of long weekends and national holidays as lot of tourists flock around then. The most scenic way of reaching the fort is to take the Metro to Chawri Bazaar and then a cycle-rickshaw through the incredibly packed bazaar to the Fort (price negotiable, aim for Rs 20). The fort has a light and sound show (Rs 50) in the evenings from 7:30PM-9PM, depending on the season. Be careful buying tickets at the booth, as the ticket sellers will attempt to shortchange you. Try to have a small bill. Due to enhanced security the parking can be a bit tricky as the walk from the now distanced away parking at nearby alternative slots is quite a bit. The congested traffic makes crossing the road even trickier. Humayun's tomb ============== Humayun's Tomb in south Delhi, near Hazrat Nizamuddin station, is one of Delhi's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Open daily from sunrise to sunset, entry is Rs 10/250, Indians/foreigners. Qutub Minar, The most famous structure on grounds, this 72.5 m minaret was the tallest "skyscraper" in the world when built (1193-1368) - it was constructed on the orders of Qutb-ud-din Aybak. Delicately carved, it has been astonishingly well-preserved and is still an awe-inspiring sight today. It's often visible from air when flying into IGI airport! (Sticklers for archaeological truth will, however, note that the top of the tower has twice been rebuilt after an earthquake, and the base has been restored more recently.) While entry into the tower itself is no longer permitted, for Rs 10 per 5 min you can view the scenery via a little webcam on top. Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Delhi's first and grandest mosque, now mostly in ruins, but many parts of the complex are still standing and the sandstone decorations are still impressive. Check out the extraordinarily ornate carvings near the tomb of Iltutmish on the west side of the complex.

My favorite 15 Things to do when I'm traveling through Delhi India Subscribe to our channel: https://goo.gl/2OsFKV Get your Delhi ebook here: https://yetanothervisarun.com/product/new-delhi-guide/ THUMBS UP PLEASE! In this video, I'll review the top 15 things to do, see, and eat in Delhi India. If you're looking for things to do in Delhi India, you'll want to watch this video all the way through. From the best food places to the top sights to check out, I cover my favorite things to do in Delhi India on a budget. 1. Humayun's Tomb – An incredible tomb built by a grieving wife, complete with English-style gardens and even an elaborate tomb for the Emperor's favorite barber. This tomb was the main architectural influence for the Taj Mahal. 2. Eat Mughlai FoodEating traditional Indian medieval food is must when you're in Delhi! I recommend trying out a popular hangout called Al-Jawahar's restaurant for a true local experience. 3. Ride in a samosa – Riding around in a tuk tuk (an automatic rickshaw) is a great way to see the city from a bumpy perspective. Expect to pay slightly higher prices for the experience, but it's completely worth it. 4. Hauz Khas Complex - Located inside Hauz Khas Village, this ancient architectural site is preserved for the public to view. From hidden stairways to old tombs, this place has it all including a view of a the beautiful “Royal Tank” lake. 5. Jama Masjid – This is India's largest mosque and is located in the middle of Old Delhi. Climb the minaret for a nominal fee to see breathtaking views of Delhi. 6. Ride a bicycle rickshaw- Undoubtedly, a very fun experience and a quick and easy way to get around town. The bicycle rides are bumpy and fast, but always pleasurable. 7. The Royal Tank & Deer Park – A beautiful park located in Hauz Khas Village. Take a stroll on one of the many walking paths and admire the wild monkeys swinging from tree branches. 8. Chandni Chowk- Absolutely, a must-visit place for the insanity of it all! Thousands of vendors hawking clothing, jewelry, and snacks line up along the streets for one of Delhi's most amazing outdoor bazaars. 9. Red Fort – This Unesco World Heritage Site offers a stunning sight. Visit the museums on the grounds and take a tour of this ancient fortress dating back all the way to 1648! 10. Qutub MinarThe world's largest brick minaret stands here in Delhi. Wonderfully preserved and kept in pristine condition, this minaret is a jaw-dropping sight to behold. Make sure to visit the other ruins on the same grounds including the mosque and an unfinished minaret. Definitely one of the top things to do in Delhi India! 11. Lodi Gardens – Located in the quiet part of town, the Lodi Gardens is Delhi's great big escape. Whether you're coming here to take a job or have a Sunday picnic, it's always a terrific place to experience some nature and get away from the traffic. 12. Shopping at Hauz Khas Village – I love Hauz Khas Village, and I can't help but share my enthusiasm for this great little area. From surrounding parks and tombs to hipster bars and adorable tea rooms, Hauz Khas Village is the perfect place to experience nightlife in Delhi! 13. Street Food – Of course, any trip to Delhi would not be complete without tasting some delicious street food. 14. Mehrauli Archaeological Park – One of the most highly underrated tourist attractions in all of Delhi! This expansive park houses dozens of incredible archeological sights from ancient step-wells to forts dating back a thousand years ago. 15. Experience a dhaba – A dhaba is a whole in the wall eatery usually situated near a busy highway. I hope you enjoyed my 15 Things To Do in Delhi India video. 12 sacred sites from around the world each one holy to their respective religion like the strange Rat Temple or Kiyomizu Shrine Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 5. Church of the Holy Sepulchre This is considered to be the most holiest site for christians and is constructed on the site of Jesus’ supposed tomb also in the city of Jerusalem. It was from this location where Christians believe Jesus was buried and then resurrected. The church has been a major site of pilgrimage since it was built in the fourth century. Despite being damaged by fires and earthquakes, it’s been repaired quite a few time and an extremely sacred place of worship. The pilgrims come also to see a holy relic called the stone of unction which is believed to be the spot where Jesus was prepared for burial. Inside, a shrine lays over the entrance to the cave where jesus was believed to be buried that you see in this photo.. 4. Lourdes, France Located on the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains in southwestern France, this city is home to many pilgrimages to people following the Catholic faith. In 1870, It’s here where a peasant girl by the name of Bernadette Soubirous allegedly saw the Virgin Mary at least 28 times. The Basilica Rosary is somewhat small but with impressive architecture and surprisingly does not contain the tomb of Bernadette On the 11th of February over 45,000 pilgrims visited this small city of about 15 thousand people and 6 million tourists from all over the world come here. The apparitions took place in a cave known as Massabielle and Bernadette was only 14 at the time. The Catholic Church acknowledged her visions as legitimate. The ones who do decide to make the journey here, hope to witness miracles and even be cured from illnesses or injuries. 3. Sahasralinga This pilgrimage site is located about 10 miles from the Sirsi Taluk in the district of Uttara Kannada of the Karnataka state in India. Due to Shalmala river drying it up, it exposed thousands of these rocks carved in the language Sanskrit. Historians claim that these rocks were carved by orders of Sadashiva Raya who was the King of Sirsi during the end of the 17th century. These carvings were to honor the hindu god Shiva who is responsible of the creation, upkeep and will be responsible for the destruction of the world. The sheer quantity of the carvings is simply astounding and offer followers of the Hindu faith a place for their prayers. 2. Varanasi Along the Ganges Considered to be the most holy site in the Hindu religion, Varanasi lies along the sacred Ganges River in India and is the spiritual capital of India. The river itself is considered to be a personified god Ganga Every morning, people wake up and wash their clothes in this river as well throw their dead relatives here as a sacred but not sanitary practice. Thousands of pilgrims each come here to attend religious ceremonies. Open cremations along banks of this river are a common occurrence that burn non stop and which is believed to grant people eternal salvation. The pollution has gotten out of control and has fecal matter content 3 times the safe level for bathing. Despite this, about 60 thousand people swim and even drink the water here each day, Hindus consider it to be a the most pure of all waters. 1.Kaaba, Mecca 15 million visitors partake in what’s known as one of the 5 pillars of Islam known as the Hajj, or sacred pilgrimage, making it by far the most holy and sacred place in the world. Islam requires each muslim to visit this city who is financially capable at least once in their life and is the largest pilgrimage in the world. This is considered to be the holiest place for muslims and The one point 6 billion followers of this religion face to the direction of Mecca Saudi, Arabia each day to pray. The population of the city can triple in size each year during the hajj. Camps are constructed to shelter the pilgrims. So what’s so special about this black cube? According to tradition it was built by the son of Abraham, Ismail built in year 2000 BC and contains a meteorite. It used to be a pagan house of worship until the prophet Muhammad arrived cleared out the icons they had been used it and made it into the house of god. The grand mosque can house hundreds of thousands of people.

Traveling India: Delhi. This video is of our first hours and days in India. Be prepared to see two culture-shocked westerners. No amount of travel guidebooks can prepare you for India. As every country has it's beauty and it's struggle. xoxo, Christine

Gay pride parades have been commonplace in western countries for decades, but this is only the third one for the Indian capital -- and it is the first such event since an Indian court decriminalized homosexuality last year. Attendees say that decision has made it safer to live as a homosexual, bisexual, or transgender Indian, ending years of police harassment and changing attitudes on the street.

Soundtrack: Levitate (From The Original Motion PicturePassengers”) - Imagine Dragons. Our first trip to India (surely, not the last one) and I can totally say that I love this country! They said: "Season of rains", "July is the worst time to go to India" they said, "Get 100 vaccinations", "It's dirty, it's dangerous"... But then we were shocked twice as much when we arrived to the considerably different environment and way of life in "God's own country" Kerala or, how we called it, Indian Switzerland! Breathtaking experience, full of surprises and unexpected turns (or bus trips...), kind people, trying to help you even if they can't! Beautiful landscapes, delicious food, friendly elephants, pouring rains (just 2 times, nothing, huh?), wonderful amazing unforgettable. I miss it and want to come back already! I can keep talking for hours... Conclusion: go to India during non-touristic season, accept the difference and love it!

Delhi Tourism Video - Delhi Tourism is the tourism of one vertex of Golden Triangle of tourism of India. Delhi Tourism video incorporates brief information about Delhi tourism places. Main places of tourist attraction during Delhi tourism include Red Fort (Lal Qila), Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Jantar Mantar, Raj Ghat, Lotus Temple and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. Delhi tourism is the tourism of the capital city of India. Delhi tourism is also remarkable because Delhi is one vertex of Golden triangle of tourism of India. There are many places to visit in Delhi. Here, we are giving brief information of few of the world famous tourist places of Delhi. The Red Fort or Lal Qila is one of Delhi's top tourist sights. It is a red sandstone fort built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as his ruling palace. Red fort was built in 1648. One of the political importances of Red fort is that the Prime minister of India hoists flag every year on Independence Day from Red Fort. Humayun's Tomb is one of Delhi's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The centerpiece is the eponymous tomb of Humayun. Built starting in 1562, it was the first major Mughal structure in the city and has been described as a prototype of Agra's Taj Mahal. The structures are, indeed, stylistically similar, although Humayun's Tomb is built from red sandstone, not white marble, and was built by a wife grieving for her husband, not the other way around. Qutub Minar is the most famous structure on grounds. This 72.5 m minaret was the tallest "skyscraper" in the world when built. It was constructed on the orders of Qutb-ud-din Aybak. It is one of the wonders of India. India Gate is a monument which was built as a memorial for the Indian soldiers who died in 1st World War. There is also a fire ("eternal flame") burning for all fallen Indian soldiers. Jantar Mantar is one of five astronomical observatories constructed by Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur during the 18th century. Huge masonry structures inside Jantar Mantar are enormous scientific instruments for measuring the movement of celestial bodies. Raj Ghat is a Memorial to Mahatma Gandhi at the site of his cremation. It is a black marble platform that marks the spot of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation. It is left open to the sky while an eternal flame burns perpetually at one end. Lotus Temple of Delhi is a world famous temple. It is shaped like a lotus bud with 27 petals. This stunning temple suspended above milky-blue ponds is surely one of the most magnificent monuments ever made from concrete. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is the main Gurudwara for the Sikhs of Delhi. The pond inside its complex is known as the "Sarovar", whose water is considered holy by Sikhs and is known as "Amrit". It was built in 1783.
